Founded in 1989, the Tillamook County Library Foundation exists to provide funds for the improvement of the Tillamook County Library System. The Library Foundation serves all of the libraries within the Tillamook County Library System. The Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation managed by a ten-member volunteer board.
The Foundation supports the library system’s programs and equipment purchases. The Foundation was the predominant fundraiser for the building of the new Main Library branch. Seed money from the Foundation gave a jump start to the Book Club Kits. The Foundation operates the Library Bookstore, both as a fundraiser and a service to the people of Tillamook County.
Looking to the future, the Foundation purchased property adjacent to the west side of the Main Library branch in 2014. This lot is the designated site for a Library Park. A Park Work Group was formed in April 2018 with a vision of creating an oasis that will serve as an outdoor space for the community, a venue for music and theater, and as a unique place that invites relaxation and flights of imagination for the people of Tillamook County.
